Training Base City: results awaited

Ministry of Defense is due to submit to the Supreme Court findings of environmental risk surveys by mid-June 2009. In the meantime, IUED has appeared before the Southern District Planning & Building Committee with objections to the deposit of construction plans.

Court rules for safer homes

Plans for the new "Taas City' neighborhood of 100,000 are suspended pending comprehensive examination of environmental risks at the contaminated site.

Double Benefits!

This year's Good Deeds day brought in nearly 1,200 pieces of electronic waste - computers, moniotors, TVs and household appliances diverted from landfill and sent to reuse and recycling. This is almost double the quantity collected last year.

Out of the Box - reducing waste

It's time for new approaches to packaging waste. IUED is calling for an Israeli packaging law based on models succesfully implemented in the European Union.

In a great victory for the environmental movement and for the Israeli public, the Knesset approved the IUED-drafted Clean Air bill on July 22, 2008.
